Today marks my 28th year in business. I started in Rockland, Maine and then fell in love with Asheville. I threw my life and store on a moving truck and landed here October of 2012. Being an entrepreneur is just an extension of who I am. I live and breathe for my little store. The joy that it fills me with is beyond anything I could ask for. To say there haven’t been many bumps in road would be lying. It’s not easy but I wouldn’t change it for the world! I’m posting this today because in the last month I realized the impact I have made with my store. After the hurricane my inbox was overflowing with messages from people I met for an hour in the store to people who have known me since day one. There are not enough words to describe how that filled my heart & soul with love & joy. I am beyond grateful that Caravans is still standing after the hurricane. I feel like I’m the little engine that could! However it’s not “I think I can, I think I can” it’s I know I can, I know I can! I’m so incredibly proud of the resilience my community has shown to the world. We are Asheville Strong! To all the entrepreneurs in my community know that you can!!! There will be hard times, tears, throwing in the towel moments but we will survive this and come out the other end wiser, stronger, bigger & better! I wish I could hug each and every one of you & tell you it’s going to be ok. Just know I’m cheering you all on!
